Depression makes you think and feel certain that you can’t feel happy again. You stop enjoying the things you used to love doing and feelings of hope diminish. The world seems to be grey.
Depression feels like a leech sapping your energy and taking over your life.
Depression needs certain things to sustain it and when you know how it works, you can start to take back control and hope can start to emerge again.
I have been trained to treat depression using an approach by Uncommon Knowledge that will help you feel better quickly.
In our first session you will gain an understanding into why you are feeling this way. We’ll talk about the levels of stress that you are experiencing and how this leads to exhaustion, both physically and mentally.
When you leave my clinic after that first session, I would expect you to feel better than you have in a long time.
You may have noticed that your depression may make it difficult to pay attention or retain information. I will work quickly to help you to relax which will prepare your brain to learn.
Depression doesn’t shift overnight but during the following sessions, we will work together to:
· reduce the amount of worrying and overthinking you are doing
· help with any practical problems that are causing you stress
· work on any relationship difficulties you may be having
· help to reduce the negative thoughts
· as you feel better, gradually introduce elements to your life that will protect you from becoming depressed again
