Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Reducing Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms

Irritable Bowel Syndrome  (IBS)  is fairly common and 1 in 5 of us can develop IBS at some stage. A proper diagnosis by a GP is very important.

Symptoms can include abdominal pain, bloating, constipation or diarrhoea or sometimes alternating episodes of both. Unfortunately there is no known cure for IBS, but hypnotherapy has been shown to have success rate of between75% to 90% in relieving symptoms.

The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) list hypnotherapy as being an effective treatment.

By reducing feelings of stress and anxiety, which can make symptoms worse, some relief is possible. Hypnotherapy teaches relaxation techniques which can help to reduce symptoms. By helping you to increase your confidence it will give you the ability to cope better with flare-ups.
